Order and Billing Information

Q: How do I purchase CareerSafe?

A: Click on the courses tab to choose the course you would like to purchase and click Buy Now. Follow the instructions for creating an account and payment options. Download the Getting Started: How to Purchase Guide.

Q: What is the cost of the CareerSafe program?

A: The CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training is $12 per student. The OSHA 10-Hour General Industry and the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry courses are $25 per student.

Q: Do I have to place my order on the internet?

A: You can download and fax the order form to us along with your payment information. You may also contact a support representative.

Q: Do you give refunds?

A: Refunds or cancellations of orders may be issued if the following conditions are met:

·     Requests for a refund must be made by contacting CareerSafe directly by phone (888-614-SAFE) or email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) within THIRTY (30) days of the date the order was processed and voucher identification number(s) are supplied to the customer by CareerSafe.

·     Refunds or cancellations will only be awarded for course voucher identification number(s) that have not been in use or completed by a student.

Refunds will only be issued to the organization/individual that orginally placed the order and not necessarily to the individual possessing a voucher identification number(s) for an uncompleted course.

Depending on the industry, once an online course is started, students have up to six (6) months to complete the course to receive credit for completion. Refunds will not be issue due to failure to complete the course within the alloted time period.

Refunds will not be issued for failure to complete the course examination with a passing score.

Q: What do I do after I have purchased voucher(s) from CareerSafe or how do I locate my voucher(s)?

A: After your purchase is complete, you will receive an email with instructions on how to retreive the voucher(s)you purchased.

If you did not receive your email, log into the campus with your username and password. On the campus homepage you will see the "Your Vouchers" section. You will be able to click on the link of Unused vouchers to view the list of available vouchers. If you see a number in the pending column it is because your order has not been processed yet.

Q: How do I update the billing information on my account?

A:To updated your billing information, click on the user properties from the "My Account" tab within the campus.

Q: What additional resources are provided to me when I make a purchase?

A: When you make a purchase you are given an administrator account. With this type of account you have access to:

·     View existing orders (voucher numbers purchased)

·     View and generate reports by invoice date, purchase date, and unused vouchers

·     View your students' progress in the course, including grades and assessment attempts

·     Print your students' completion certificates

·     Reset your students' passwords

·     Order additional vouchers

Q: Do I have to pay an additional amount to receive the course completion wallet card?

A: The cost of the first completion card is included in the course price. If you lose, misplace, or provided the incorrect shipping information, a reprint card can be ordered. The cost of a reprint card for the OSHA 10-Hour courses is $7 per card. This is a required fee for OSHA processing and handling. The replacement request can be ordered through your transcript or from the administrative voucher and teacher tools section.

Q: How do I get to the campus?

A: From the website click on the Campus Login button or navigate to

Q: Is an email address required to create an account in the CareerSafe campus?

A: Yes, due to OSHA regulations we must require an email address to access the campus.

Q: I can't log in to the campus. What might be wrong?

A: Please make sure you are entering the exact login information as when you registered. If you are still having problems, contact the support desk at 888-614-SAFE.

Q: I've purchased my vouchers now how do I get my students registered?

A: Provide each of your students with a voucher number. The students will then navigate to the campus to create their own accounts. When the student enroll into the course with the voucher number, their account will then be associated with your gradebook. Download the Getting Started: How to Enroll Students Guide.

Q: My student receives an error that the voucher number is already in use.

A: You can log in to your account and view your voucher list. This will allow you to view the name that has been associated with the voucher. If the name associated with the voucher is not your student, please contact our support desk.

Q: My student has forgotten their username and/or password. How can I retrieve the information?

A: The student can click on the forgot password link when logging in and can retrieve the password by email. As a teacher you do have access to the username information in your gradebook as well as access to reset the student's password.

Q: I have a voucher number, now how do I enroll?

A: If you do not have an account when you create one you will have an option of entering your voucher identification number during registration. If you already have an account, after logging in, from your campus homepage you will see an option to enroll into a course with a voucher number. Click on this link.

Q: Why won't the next button let me proceed to the next slide in the module?

A: All narration/activities on the slide must be complete before a student will be allowed to continue on to the next slide. In addition if the slid is telling you to "Click Next", but the next button is not activating, please do the following when using Internet Explorer:

1. If your Menu Bar is active at the Top of your Screen:

          a. Navigate to the CareerSafe site and login

          b. click the "Tools" Option

          c. Select "Compatibility View"

2. If you do not see the Menu Bar, Press the ALT Key on your keyboard and then follow "a-c" as described above

3. If using Windows 8 ensure you are in Desktop Mode, and then follow "a-c" as described above

Q: I finished taking the course but my course is not marked as complete?

A: Check that all modules, including the fact sheets and survey, have been completed. All modules are required prior to the course marking complete.

Q: How can I change my password?

A: Log into the CareerSafe campus and click on the My Account tab. From there you can change your password in the user properties.

Q: My student has forgotten their password. Is there a way to reset it?

A: Yes, you can reset your student's password from the teacher gradebook.

Q: How do I view my transcript in the campus?

A: After logging into the CareerSafe campus click on the My Account tab. From there you can view your transcript.

Q: How do I update my name in the campus?

A: Due to OSHA requirements you will have to contact our support desk to have your name updated in your records.

Q: What is keystroke authentication and why do I have to do it?

A: The new OSHA compliance regulations require all authorized online providers verify the identity of a user throughout the course. We have chosen to use the keystroke authentication methods as the most user friendly biometric. Only the OSHA 10-Hour courses require these biometrics and when you start the course you will be prompted to set up your keystroke signature. You will be prompted to type a sentence and randomly throughout the course you will receive a prompt asking you to type the same sentence again.

Q: I unable to authenticate my signature, how do I reset it?

A:You will not be locked out if you can not successfully authenticate your signature. There might be a few reasons causing the error:

·     You used an unnatural keystroke when originally setting up the signature and now cannot replicate the same keystroke.

·     You might have switched the type/style of keyboard. This might alter or change your keystroke.

·     You may have injured your hand/finger which will alter or change your keystroke

If any of the above occurs, you can request, by contacting our support desk, to have your signature reset. Our team will then verify your identity, based on security questions answered, prior to resetting the keystroke signature. Once we reset the signature, you can re-authenticate the signature by navigating to your user properties.

If you incorrectly type the sentence in mid keystroke, you can hit the backspace key but it will erase the sentence and have you start over from the beginning.

Course Content Information including OSHA Requirements

Q: Where do you get the information for the courses?

A: The course content comes from the OSHA Training Institute as well our team of subject matter experts in the OSHA Safety and Health Training industry.

Q: How long do students have to complete the course?

A: Students have one year to complete the CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training. Students have six (6) months to complete the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry course or the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry course.

Q: What information is covered in the courses?

Q: What are the current OSHA policies that must be applied to receive and OSHA 10-Hour card?

A: To satisfy all the requirements to receive the OSHA 10-Hour wallet card, students must meet the following items:

·     Must pass all assessments within 3 attempts with a grade of 70% or higher. If the student is unable to pass an assessment within the required 3 times they will be allowed one reset of the course. But the course must be started over from the beginning.

·     Must complete the course within six (6) months from the course enrollment date.

·     Must spend a minimum of two (2) days taking the course with no more than 7 1/2 hours (450) minutes in a single day.

·     Must view and complete all course material including the course survey

Q: Do I have to view the modules in the order they are listed?

A: You must view the Getting Started or Directions modules first before taking any of the modules. You must also view the topic module prior to being able to take the assessment and you must pass the module assessment before you will have access to the module fact sheet.

In the OSHA 10-Hour courses you must also complete the Introduction to OSHA modules as well as the StartSafe StaySafe module before you can view any of the other modules. Once those three modules are complete you can view the modules in any order.

Q: How many times can a student take an assessment?

A: In the CareerSafe Safety Awareness training the student has 36 attempts on any of the module assessments. In the OSHA 10-Hour courses students only have three (3) attempts to pass the assessment with a 70% or higher. If the student is unable to pass the assessment within the three (3) attempts, they will be allowed one (1) time reset on the entire course. The student will have to start the course from the beginning per OSHA guidelines.

Q: Can a student see the correct answer for a missed assessment question?

A: No, students will only be able to view the correct answers. However, students will receive feedback on the missed question with a reference on where to seek additional information on the topic.

Q: What happens when a student finishes the program?

A: Once a student successfully complete the CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training, the student will receive a CareerSafe wallet card, which demonstrates that the student has the fundamental safety knowledge needed in the workplace.

Once a student successfully completes the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry or the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry courses, they will receive an OSHA 10-Hour wallet card from the OSHA Training Institute within 4-6 weeks.

Program Requirements

Q: What are the minimum computer requirements for the campus?

A: The CareerSafe program requires:

·     300 MHz processor

·     64 MB RAM

·     Version 7 or higher web browser with Flash plug-in

·     Sound card

·     Speakers or headphones

·     Although it is not required, we recommend a broadband connection of 128 Kbps or higher

Q: What browser settings are required for the campus?

A: Users must have cookies and java script enabled. You will also need to turn off your pop-up blocker.

Q: What browser programs are supported by this program?

A: Most browsers are supported, however, we ensure optimum performance of the site, we recommend Internet Explorer version 7 or higher.

Q: Is there is a system check to ensure the campus will run properly on my computer?

A: Yes, you can test your computer by running our Test Your Computer system check.

Accessing Student Records

Q: Is there a way for a teacher to check a students transcript in the campus?

A: Yes, teachers can view their student's progress in the teacher gradebook.  To access the gradebook log into the campus and click on the Voucher and Teacher Tools link.  From there the gradebook can be viewed. Download the Getting Started: Campus Gradebook Guide.

Q: As a teacher, how can I print my student's completions certificate?

A: In the teacher gradebook, once a student is complete, a link to the student certificate will be in the completed column.

Q: How can a student view their course transcript?

A: Once signed into the campus, a student can click on my account.  From there they will be able to view the course transcript, as well as view and print a copy of the course completion certificate.

Q: How does a student or teacher order a course replacement card?

A: A course replacement card for the OSHA 10-Hour courses costs $7.  This fee is the required OSHA card processing fee. Only one replacement can be printed and it must be within 5 years of the course completion date.

A student can request the replacement by navigating to their transcript.  From there, if they are eligible for a replacement card, a card replacement link will be at the top of the transcript.  After clicking this link the student will be walked through the ordering process.

A teacher can request the replacement card request through their Voucher and Teacher Tools section. Please note that if a teacher requests the reprint this will count against the students opportunity to request a reprint.
