We’re thrilled to announce our first ever 2024-2025 National CTE Student of the Year:
Brock Cousineau.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination. We received over 300 entries for CTE students from more than 30 focus areas — and we were so excited to hear about the outstanding accomplishments of each and every one of them!

Congratulations
Brock Cousineau!

Brock Cousineau is a 12th grade student at Seaway Area Career and Technical Center in New York. He’s a member of both the National Technical Honor Society and National Honor Society and is a student leader for the school’s Natural Resources program — his area of focus. This fall, Brock plans to major in Conservation Law at Husson University in Maine.

In addition to academic pursuits, Brock is captain of the hockey team, is involved in the Trap Shooting Club, and has several part-time jobs. He’s a UDig NY Certified Excavator and a member of the Norfolk Fire Department, holding certifications in firefighting and First Aid/CPR.

As CareerSafe’s 2024-2025 National CTE Student of the Year, Brock will receive a $2500 cash prize and will be recognized in a special award ceremony at his school.

CareerSafe’s National CTE Student of the Year award recognizes an exceptional CTE student who has demonstrated remarkable skills, innovation, and dedication in their chosen CTE pathway, as well as the personal qualities of leadership, perseverance, and a passion for continuous learning.

The National CTE Student of the Year will be awarded a scholarship prize of $2,500, a highlight video, a watch party and award ceremony at their school, and national recognition through press, social media, and online announcements.

Nominations for 2025-2026 will be accepted from school officials, administrators, and educators at the student’s school beginning August 2025.

Eligibility

Please refer to the Official Contest Rules for additional requirements and information.

Each nominee must:

  • Have a sponsor (e.g., teacher, mentor, or advisor)
  • Have successfully completed a CareerSafe OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour course
  • Sign the Consent and Release from Liability Form, to be submitted with nomination

Each nominator must:

  • Complete the online Nomination Form
  • Complete and sign the Consent and Release from Liability Form

We’ll begin accepting nominations for the 2025-2026 National CTE Student of the Year in August 2025.
