Write Your Safety Story

If you’ve successfully completed a CareerSafe OSHA course, this contest is for you! CareerSafe is giving you the opportunity to (quite literally) write your own safety story. We want to know how OSHA training has impacted the way you view and recognize hazards and how you think the knowledge you’ve gained will benefit your future.

How to Enter

Entries may be submitted online or by mail (see submission instructions below) and must be digitally submitted or postmarked by April 30, 2024. 

To submit online: Simply use the Box tool submission tool on this page. Be sure to include your essay, your entry form, and your release form (see Eligibility details for required forms). 

To submit by mail: Print your essay and attach your entry form and release form (see Eligibility details for required forms). Mail entries to:

Essay Qualifications

Written essays must: 1) be 800 words or less; 2) be typed and double-spaced; 3) use a 12-point Arial (or equivalent) font; and 4) have numbered pages and one-inch margins. 

Video essays must: 1) consist of an oral presentation in front of the camera; 2) be approximately 60-90 seconds long; and 3) be exported in either .mp4 or .mov format.

Eligibility

Each entrant must: 

  • Have a sponsor (e.g., teacher, mentor, advisor, or parent/guardian)  
  • Have successfully completed a CareerSafe OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour course 
  • Include an Official Entry Form and an Official Liability Release Form with entry
