NOVEMBER 30, 2023] Each year, CareerSafe acknowledges one national safety educator who goes the extra mile in instilling the significance of safety education as a lifelong skill. From numerous impressive educators considered, one individual truly stood out for their outstanding contributions to more than just a single classroom, but a whole school district.
Jamie Everett, the Assistant Director of Career Development over Career and Technical Education (CTE) at Leander ISD (Leander, Texas), was named the winner of the 2023 CareerSafe National Safety Educator of the Year Award at the ACTE Awards Gala, as part of the ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2023 conference.
With 14 years of educational experience across multiple states, Jamie's passion for CTE is unmatched. Her impact spans through eight high schools within Leander ISD, a fast-growing district in the north Austin, Texas area.
In addition to serving in her current role, Jamie has taught Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, served as a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Adviser, and held many leadership/committee positions supporting CTE at local, state, and national levels.
The award, accompanied by a $5,000 cash prize, will further fuel her commitment to enhancing safety education within the district. A video highlighting Jamie’s impact on educators and students was shared at the ACTE Awards Gala and is housed on CareerSafe’s website.
